About Judge Megan Goldish

Career highlights past and present

Hon. Megan Goldish Decalogue Society of Lawyers Judge Megan Goldish was elected to the Bench in 2014, and sits in the Domestic Violence Division, hearing criminal and civil cases, and conducting hearings involving orders of protection. Prior to ascending to the Bench, Judge Goldish was a Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney for approximately 17 years, and she was the supervising attorney of the WINGS Treatment Call.

Judge Goldish graduated with honors from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, and, in 2013, was appointed to its Law School faculty as an adjunct instructor in the Trial Advocacy Program. Judge Goldish conducts interviews for the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law Admissions Committee, and serves as a guest instructor to Foreign LLM students, and in its Masters in Science Program. Judge Goldish also completed a semester of law school at the University of Cambridge-Emmanuel College in England. Judge Goldish received her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois Urbana/Champaign, where she graduated Suma Cum Laude, and as a Graduate of Distinction. Judge Goldish teaches Advanced Trial Advocacy at Chicago-Kent College of Law. She is an adjunct coach to the mock trial team at Niles West High School, and regularly addresses agencies and classes about Domestic Violence Law.

Judge Goldish is the President of the North Suburban Bar Association of Illinois. She is the Recording Secretary for the Decalogue Society, and has served on its Board of Managers for the past few years. She is an active member and a committee chairwoman of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois. Judge Goldish serves on the Board of Directors of the Jewish Judges Association. She is a member of the American Bar Association, American Bar Fellows, The Chicago Bar Association, the Hellenic Bar Association of Illinois, the Illinois Judges Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, and the Lesbian and Gay Bar Association of Chicago.

Judge Goldish is the Co-President of the Chicago Lighthouse for the Blind Junior Board. She is on the Board of Directors of the Lynn Sage Cancer Foundation, on the Board of Directors of Bright Star Community Outreach, on the Executive Board of the Midwest Simon Wiesenthal Center, on the Women’s Leadership Committee of the Illinois Holocaust Museum, on the Board of Directors of the Trinity Irish Dance Company, and she was a benefactor/member of the Family Readiness Group of the 709th Illinois Army National Guard.

Judge Goldish is also on the Board of the Abolition Institute and is an active sponsor and participant in programs of Camp for All Kids, Misericorida, the Chicago Latino Film Festival and the Chicago Cultural Alliance. She has studied French, Greek, Hebrew, Italian, and Spanish. Judge Goldish is a graduate of the Second City Conservatory and regularly performs with the Musical Theater Ensemble at the Old Town School of Music.
